Babna Gora is a settlement in the Šmarje pri Jelšah municipality in eastern Slovenia. It lies in the hills to the south of Šmarje in the Kozjansko area. The area was traditionally part of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint Anne and belongs to the Sveti Štefan pri Žusmu parish. It is first mentioned in written documents dating to 1490. It was rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century.[3]
